The Real Life Living Presentation Series is off to a great start. The first presentation was held on Saturday, February 10th. A small group of us gathered to learn all about the “art” of Self-Care.
One attendee had this to say….
“I never know where I’ll find a nugget of information. The session provided me with several nuggets that I implemented that day and saw dramatic change in my attitude towards a certain matter in my life. Thank you Dana Ellington for the hard work of coordinating this amazing event and thank you for finding Tamay who brought insight.”
I too, am never sure where my next life lesson is going to come from, but I’m thankful to the work I’ve done (the basis for The Next Chapter) for leaving me open to taking them in as they come.
My first key lesson let me know I was on the right track with this month’s Challenge as Tamay explained, “Self care is way more than bubble baths, manicures, and days at the spa. It’s about taking time out to look at your life, ask yourself, “is this where I want to be / is this WHO I want to be”, and then based on the answers, find ways to bring your life into alignment with your desired outcomes.
I ended up with two full pages of notes, tips, and most importantly, practices that I can easily incorporate into my day to day, that will help me reach my key desired outcomes of:
- feeling connected
- feeling at ease in my body
- feeling more confident.
Tamay was a definite shot of positive energy; she spoke to each of the attendees directly, addressing each of our specific obstacles with seemingly tailor-made solutions.
She took all of our breathes away with this line, “Grow bigger than you know yourself to be.” I get chills remembering the moment.
It is gatherings such as these – intimate, safe places where people can come together, share their struggles, and find real life solutions / support.
I’ll certainly make it a point to have Tamay back for an encore presentation later on this year. In the meantime, if you get the chance to work with her, take it! You will not be disappointed.
If you’re in the Atlanta, GA metro area and want to get in on the next presentation in the series, registration is now open! Come and meet Ms. Dossier Harps as she helps us learn why our ‘I Can’ and ‘I Will’ are more important than our ‘IQ’.
